MMMMM... FALL COOKING

This is a beloved recipe that we have been making since 1989 when a neighbor made it for us in a Christmas set of cookies and goodies. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. We have slightly decreased the amounts of spices over the years and it is now perfect.

Pumpkin Bread

3 C sugar
1 C Crisco oil
4 eggs

Beat until creamy

Add:
2 tsp salt
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp cloves
¾ tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking soda
1 15 oz can of pumpkin puree
2/3 C hot water
2 tsp lemon extract

Slowly add 3 1/3 C all purpose flour

Bake in 2 or 3 loaves for about an hour or in one large bundt about 65 minutes at 325 degrees.

Careful or you might eat the whole thing...

Gonna make this one this week and share it with our neighbors! You're such an awesome cook, thanks for recipe sharing. I wish we didn't live so far apart. I miss your friendship.
